Ashe County is in the northwest corner of the state bordering Tennessee and Virginia. Its rural character and numerous Christmas tree farms add to the small town charm of its main streets, the waving hands of friendly neighbors, and the unbelievable mountain vistas. We have a thriving arts community, serving as a catalyst in the development of a strong arts movement and in the preservation of our mountain heritage.








Boone is the county seat of Watauga County, Ashe’s southern neighbor. Whatever your pleasure you can enjoy four real seasons filled with natural beauty, man-made art, outdoor recreation, festivals, shopping, picnicking or whatever lowers your blood pressure.
